“ITRC Forum”, organized by Information Technology Resource Centre (ITRC) of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), is an annual event/ the premier gathering of the social welfare sector in Hong Kong, aiming to provide NGOs with various angles and view of Information Technologies. It has created a platform for the social service organizations and ICT solution providers to exchange ideas, to share best practices, and to learn the latest adoption and application of technologies.
Without a doubt, cloud computing is changing the way we work and is redefining the way we use technology in almost every aspect of our lives. Cloud will become the central hub of the next generation Internet and IT services, connecting people and services via PCs, browsers and mobile devices. For NGOs, cloud computing helps lower cost and increase efficiencies while it creates opportunities to deliver new services in new ways. However, this challenges IT professionals in the areas of managing information security and mitigating cloud security risk. This year in 2014, ITRC Forum aims to address the cloud security and management challenges, and introduce different latest ICT applications used in the social welfare sector.
The Forum is the single show where delegates and technology vendors can meet to experience and discuss the latest cloud services in NGOs. It is a combination of keynotes, speeches, as well as exhibition. The targeted speakers will be from different parties including the research and telecommunication companies, local and overseas scholars, local NGOs, etc. There will be around 200 participants. The promotion materials will reach over 6,000 social welfare professionals in all levels including but not limited to directors, general secretary, IT managers, and financial controller under HKCSS.
